You don’t know me but you might know my voice from Call of Duty or TCM. Or you might know “No Hay Banda”. I shout it over swinging trumpet played by the late great Conti Condoli in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive. The film opens with swing dancing to an original Angelo Baldalamante score.
The same year Mulholland Drive won Cannes’ top prize, the Palm d’Or, our ZigZag Band opened the Cannes Film Festival to promote 7 Year ZigZag a film in Rhyme and Swing. I got to walk the red carpet with David Lynch, Naomi Watts and so many others…
Now, 15 years later, the BBC polled 177 international film critics and proclaimed the No Hay Banda – Club Silencio scene to be the greatest scene in the greatest film of the 21st Century – Mulholland Drive. Though arguable, I am humbled, honored, and motivated none the less.
I am proud to announce the online release of 7 Year ZigZag – a jazz rap narrative. We are now available on Amazon and iTunes. If you would like to see one of the most unusual film’s ever made please follow the link here.
